DescriptionTape-based needle lace. Freely formed needle lace built up on a base of narrow woven tapes, the edges of which are sewn in with buttonhole stitches in imitation of needle-made types. The smaller leaves and the centers of the flowers are worked entirely with the needle in plain and decorative buttonholing.
