DescriptionFlat needle lace, mostly on solid buttonhole stitch, with small areas of spaced stitches; decorative openings and linking bars with picots. The lace forms a pattern of S-shaped foliate scrolls extending outwards from vertical plant motifs. The pattern is based on embroidery designs of the late 16th century and is related to some of the lace designs published by Elisabetta Parasok (?) from 1598 onwards.
