DescriptionSquares of linen, inset with panels of needle lace, alternate with squares of needle lace. The needle lace is solidly worked with thick thread in rows of buttonhole stitch, relieved with some lines of openings, and with picots along the edges. The lace panels are attached to outer lines of plaited threads and linked to the linen with insertion stitches in imitation of cutwork. The small squares set in the linen are filled with floral forms and, in one case, possible with a monogram. The larger panels contain flowers and animals, including in the central panel, the Lamb of God with cross and flag.
