DescriptionThis drawing depicts a mountain above rocky terrain. The mountain has a deep decline on its left side that plateaus before it reaches the ground. The right side is a little rounder and more bulbous. The terrain in front of the mountain appears rocky, and there is a break before continuing down the page. Below the break, occupying the lower half of the vertical composition is a circular labyrinth drawn with a bold black line.ProvenanceAcquired from the artist by his wife, Lucile Michels Morris (b. 1954), Gardiner, New York, 2018–2024;
Her gift to The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, MO, 2024.
