DescriptionThis horizontally oriented print in black ink features several trees in the foreground and a view of a hillside town in the distance, seen between the trees. Three of the largest, closest trees are the darkest shapes in the composition. The two of these at left frame an open space through which the middle of the town can be seen, including a central tower. The foreground is mostly white. At the left and right edges of that foreground, there are groups of trees rendered just behind the ground, into the middle ground. The sky above the horizon behind the town is left blank.Exhibition HistoryProvenance
