DescriptionA black organic-shaped brooch with multi-layered series of silver porcelain “petals” surrounding an open center. Layered or painted with black stoneware from the outer edge to the start of the curling, the exterior of the porcelain form has a rough and textured surface. The interior layers are painted with silver and have a matte luster. A single silver pin is attached to the back of the ceramic work with an adhesive, so that it can be attached to fabric or clothing. The back of the piece has clear outlines of the silver paint layer around the interior of the central void, and the exterior of the piece is framed in a black stoneware application. The artist’s initials, KS, are painted on the verso in black.Provenance
