DescriptionA circular brooch made of multiple layers of white porcelain surrounding thin layers of black stoneware. The black stoneware appears to break through the layers of white porcelain from the reverse. The exterior of the white porcelain is layered with silver and displays a matte luster. The back of the piece has clear outlines of the black stoneware layers around the interior of the central void, as if painted. A single silver pin is attached to the back of the ceramic work with an adhesive, so that it can be attached to fabric or clothing. The initials of the artist, KS, are painted in black on the interior of the convex form near the bottom center of the piece.Provenance

Purchased from the artist by Robert A. Hiller, by 2017;
