DescriptionBobbin-made straight lace of the Chantilly type. Delicate twist-net ground; the pattern in half-stitch with a thicker outlining thread. The mat-black silk of which the lace 13 is made is called Grenadine. Striaght central band swelling to form oval ends. Outlined with stylized leaves and, at the ends, with flower heads. Delicate floral trails and, at the ends, larger flower heads and clusters of leaves within strapwork compartments.Provenance
