DescriptionThis doll portrays a seated high-ranking warrior with an elaborate helmet and suit of armor. He is seated on a stool, and he holds a batton with ornaments depicting the sun, the moon, a lion, Big Dipper, a star, and a Buddhist jewel placed on a three-legged stand. His face is oval, and his hair is tied on the back. The helmet has horn-like decorations and a crescent-shaped finial on the front. He holds a sword with a white hilt and black-lacquered sheath decorated with makie and gold elements. He has a bow, three tall arrows, two short arrows, and a quiver. His armor is made of paper plates coated with silver leaf and joined by orange laces. The breastplate has a roundel with a dragon motif. His robe is made of light blue silk with silver thread, and his trousers are made of ochre silk brocaded with silver thread and silk. His belt is wrapped with plain purple silk. The armor plates are decorated with metal finials showing lions.
