DescriptionThis black and white print depicts a horse-powered sorghum mill. The horse is at left, walking in a circular path around the central part of the mill, pulling long circular levers attached to its harness that crank the mill as the horse walks. A farmer stands to the right of the mill, behind a bucket and next to a pile of cut sorghum. Planted grasses are standing behind the scene with a small building behind them at the far right of the scene and tall, dark trees rise behind the crop as well, positioned behind the horse.Exhibition History
