DescriptionThis metal sculpture depicts the abstract form of a person’s face as a simple almost mask-like plane with a wide, horizontal orientation. The eyes and mouth are indicated as cut-out negative forms in the shape of distorted circles. The nose is suggested as a cut-out V that extends down from the top edge of the face. Two holes to the extreme left and right of the face perhaps indicate ears. The lower edge of the sculpture, which supports the whole, runs horizontally beneath the entire width of the face.
