DescriptionYoung boy by the side of the road, on one knee shooting dice. He is barefoot as he has already lost his shoe to the game. His right hand is open as he has released the dice. There are several flowers by the side of the road as well. He is dressed in striped clothing..This is a story influenced by the artist’s work at a juvenile detention facility. A young man has escaped a prison and is gambling by the side of the road. Creightney correlates this scene to his decision to become an artist and uses his own self-portrait as the character of the scene- he says he has escaped the prison of a drudgery job but that the life of an artist is a gamble. The bright blue sky is there as a symbol of hope.
