DescriptionThis is a self-portrait of the artist wearing two layered hoodies. The inner hoodie has a red-orange hood, and the inside is yellow along with two round animal ears poking out at the top. The outer hoodie is brown with turquoise draw strings. The subject is turned at a three quarters angle to the viewer’s right, and he is looking down at his phone so that his hood entirely obscures his face and hair. Emanating from the phone are many doodles of bright shapes and colors including the artist’s son’s name, “Noah”. This piece is where the artist decided to make his daily doodles more colorful. The rest of the composition is taken up by colorful stickers Chinese words, brands, an air quality number, and cartoons as well as several blocks of text in Chinese.

Text:
The orange text to the left reads, “To whom purchased will get complimentary gifts.”
The pink text in the middle toward the bottom reads, “Fans” (referring to an admirer).
The brown text in an orange, spiky bubble reads, “Hardcore”.
Other smaller texts around the page read,
“Crooked Mouth”, which is a popular meme website in China.
“Pork Liver with Garlic Chives”,
“Jiang Xiaobai – Chinese Baijiu”, which is an economical Chinese liquor brand.
