DescriptionUsing fine black lines, this vertically oriented drypoint print depicts three men against a dark, crosshatched background. The man standing in a three-quarters pose at the left side of the composition is depicted from the knees up. He wears a light-colored jacket and pants and holds his hat out in front of his torso with both hands. He has short hair, a five-o’clock shadow, and wears a pensive expression. Standing just slightly behind him at the center of the composition is a mustachioed man who wears a uniform, the jacket of which has a double row of buttons down the front. His wears a hat with a domed crown and a u-shaped insignia just above the small brim. At the right side of the image, a third man sits behind a tall desk with a three-globed lap on its corner closest to the uniformed man. The man behind the desk wears a dark jacket with a light shirt or tie. He has glasses and light colored hair and beard. His gaze is directed at the man opposite him—the one clenching his hat in his hands. The print includes the monogram “AB” in the upper left corner.Exhibition HistoryNone
