DescriptionStanding center on black-and-white checkered floor, a young girl with dark brown hair and eyes; wears red-and-blue satin dress with intricate lace sleeves, bodice, and apron, square-toed shoes, string of pearls at neck; holds closed fan in left hand and with right reaches to white bowl, filled with red cherries. Placed to her right on table, covered to floor with green cloth trimmed with fringe, by the side of which is brown and white spaniel; in proper right middleground is visible fluted column behind flowering embroidered drape; to proper left, 8 red blooms appear among dark brown foliage; in background, view of domed building.ProvenancePrivate collection, CT;
