Markings(inside lid): hallmarked with 4 stamps: "PB/AB", date letter "q", lion passant, soverign's head. Above the stamps is scratched: "250 BL F E S/"(under base of urn): leopard's head crowned, lion passant, makers' mark "PB/AB", date letter "q", soverign's head. Just below hallmarks is scratched: 162/375".(inside urn, on lid of cylinder and on cylinder): "PB/AB" and lion passant. (side): (engraved armorial device) See accession file for more information.

DescriptionFlattened octagonal form with spigot on side; ear handles and domed octagonal lid surmounted by palmettes; body tapers downward toward octagonal stem flaring out to octagonal flat base on four scroll feet; armorial device of three rampant lions on side. (Lid fits very poorly and may not go with object)
