DescriptionThis large charcoal drawing depicts a nude man viewed in profile. The man strides parallel to the picture plane moving toward the right with his proper right leg extended and proper right arm slightly bent at the elbow. His curly hair; bushy beard; and the musculature of his shoulders, upper right arm, and chest are rendered in great detail, whereas the remainder of his body is only suggested through a light outline and very minimal shading. The artist's signature and the inscription "Paris" are prominent--just to the right of the model's chest in the upper third of the composition.
