DescriptionMixed needle and bobbin lace of the type known as Duchesse de Bruxelles. The collar is largely bobbin-made in the part-lace technique with inset medallions of needle lace and larger, irregularly shaped compartments filled with point de gaze mesh and naturalistic roses. Wide collar to fit a high, round neck. Typical Duchesse pattern.Provenance
