The rippling surfaces of this vessel recall the mountainous terrain of Rudy Autio’s native state of Montana. Born in Butte, Autio found inspiration in the area’s animals and landscapes. Named after the small town of Armington, a wild stampede is evoked by a vibrant interplay between image and form. The intertwined bodies of women and horses rendered with colorful glazes and incised lines emphasize the dynamic energy between the figures.
