DescriptionA dense people scene with many robed standing and seated figures, most wearing laurels, some bearing musical instruments or books depicted on recto. Additionally, a seated woman at left holds a scroll inscribed "Sappho". On the verso, a faintly painted landscape is depicted with hills surrounding water and a tree. At left in the foreground, is a figure on a hill, with rowboat at top left and a castle at lower left. At center is a ruined colonnade with a fountain at top right. The spines are decorated in gold with Greek-key and foliated scroll patterns.
