DescriptionThis is a portrait of the artist’s mother. The woman is staring straight at the viewer with a fierce and stern face. She wears a pair of delicate red glasses, and her hair is held up by a colorful Tibetan hair wrap meant for older women. She wears light blue earrings and a pearl necklace, the latter of which sits under colorfully patterned Tibetan clothes. She wears a red badge on the left side of her chest that signifies membership in the Communist party. The background is a bright yellow green. There is a sticker along the bottom that reads, “I [heart] touching base”.
