DescriptionThis small horizontally oriented pen-and-ink drawing depicts, at its left side, a human skull resting on drapery atop a table. To the right, just past center, stands a tall vase holding a bouquet of delicate flowers. Beyond that, to the right, a small book rests closed on the table. Behind this foreground arrangement is a rectangular shape that could be a window or perhaps an artist’s canvas.ProvenanceAlbert Bloch to wife, Anna Francis Bloch, Lawrence, Kansas, at his death in 1961;
