DescriptionA ceramic figure of a young man, seen from the hips up, occupies the center of the lower half of the print. He wears a black cap with a gold insignia above the center of the brim, a tan shirt, and black trousers. He has a line of facial hair under his lower lip and on his chin. A grey serpent swirls in concentric circles once around his neck and twice around his body. The serpent’s head and the rest of its body form a reverse-S shape above the man’s head. The snake faces left in profile with a long, red, forked, wavy tongue that goes from upper left to middle right. The serpent’s tail is seen next to the figure’s proper right hip.Provenance
