DescriptionA grayscale inkjet print shows a black and white print image of a white male figure in a suit and dress shoes, seated on an unknown object. The image has been duplicated, cut and torn, reassembled and taped in the middle of a white sheet of paper. The collaged figure is facing sideways, and has two right arms, two left arms, and three legs. The two right arms are outstretched and parallel to the ground. The figured has been collaged over a newspaper photograph image of an oil field with an oil tank in the middle. It has been shifted on its side vertically. The upper center image shows ten posts sticking out of the ground. The bottom of the study contains the artist’s writing: “N. NODJOUMI 2018 STUDY FOR THE END OF THE ROAD 11”X8.5”. The right hand side of the image contains the newspaper caption “Gas burn-off and oil tanks at the northern oil filed in Kirkuk, Iraq. Kurdish officials angered Baghdad by exporting oil produced in their region directly to Tur*” (*word is cut off). Text identifies the image as from the New York Times. A grid has been drawn over the image, numbered one through twelve across the top of the image, and one through 17 down the right side of the image. The number 30 is at the top left hand corner of the paper. Artist’s notes are on the lower left hand side.Provenance
