DescriptionA grayscale inkjet print shows a black and white print image of a white male figure in a suit and dress shoes, seated on an unknown object. The image has been duplicated, cut and torn, reassembled and taped in the middle of a white sheet of paper. The collaged figure is facing sideways, and has two right arms, two left arms, and three legs. The two right arms are outstretched and parallel to the ground. The figured has been collaged over a newspaper photograph image of a burning campsite, which has been shifted on its side vertically. A small building is at the top center of the image. Black smoke is billowing from the center of the image to the left hand corner. The bottom of the study contains the artist’s writing: “N. NODJOUMI 2018 STUDY FOR THE END OF THE ROAD 11”X8.5”. The right hand side of the image contains the newspaper caption “A protest camp in North Dakota was razed last week. Activists describe new laws passed by the Legislature there as thinly veiled attempts to quell dissent” and identifies the image as from the New York Times.ProvenanceWith Taymour Grahne Art Limited, by 2018.
