DescriptionUsing fine black lines, this vertically oriented drypoint print depicts at its center a woman holding a baby on the left and a man on the right. The woman wears a hat, coat, and long skirt that covers her shoes. She tightly holds the baby, wrapped in a blanket, against her. Its head rests on the woman’s proper right shoulder and is tucked just beneath her chin. The man whom she stands next to also wears a hat and sports a mustache. His coat is open to reveal a striped shirt. He wears dark colored pants and dark shoes. While his proper left arm hangs straight down at his side, his proper right arm is bent at the elbow at a 90-degree angle. The fingers of his hand curl around a small roughly rectangular object with an unintelligible inscription or label on it. Both figures lean again a wall. They wear far-off, dejected expressions. Near the lower left corner of the image is the inscription: “Albert Bloch / London / MCMIX”Exhibition HistoryNone
