Many of the people Lara Shipley and Antone Dolezal met in the Ozarks are artists and musicians. They met Jeannie, the woman in this photograph, and her husband at a local farmer's market. The couple invited the photographers to their self-constructed home, a "fairy-tale cottage," as Shipley described it. Struck by the unique masks Jeannie tailormade for people, Shipley asked her to pose for a portrait. Here, Jeannie is shown wearing a mask that represents her husband.
