Lara Shipley and Antone Dolezal staged this image to emulate the phenomenon of the Spook Light, an ominous orb said to appear at night in the woods at the end of a dark country road. The suggestive black-and-white image references the inconclusive imagery people have held up as evidence since the first sightings occurred in the late 1880s. “There are a lot of people who went out and made fictional photographs of the Spook Light,” said Shipley. “We wanted people to be thinking about that within our project as well.”
