DescriptionThis vertical-format, color lithograph consists of a soft cream-colored, rectangular background printed on white paper. Upon this is printed a precise, mechanical, scale profile drawing of a tube of lipstick set upon a platform resting upon caterpillar tracks. A pump lever and air hose are attached to this structure at viewer right. The caterpillar section is overlaid with a scale grid. Beneath the structure is the title of the work of art, printed in block capital letters. The caterpillar section is tan, the platform and pump are gray, the lipstick tube is a soft golden color, and the lipstick protruding from the tube is orange.Copyright© Estate of Claes Oldenburg
