DescriptionThis work is rectalinear with a horizontal orientation. It is a multicolor silk screen print on Arches 88 Paper, combining nine layers of screen prints to create a complex, highly detailed and ornate composition. The center field is tan in color and depicts three figures, one kneeling, one riding atop the kneeling figure, and one collapsed in front of them, against a field swirling with brown abstract linear forms based upon the Arabic script. Red script is printed overtop the figures as well. This scene is surrounded by a blue border with repeating dark blue medallions, also based upon Arabic Script. The composition resembles the format and components of a Persianate album page.Provenance
