DescriptionAngular, lithic mountain fragments composed in a large, single zig-zag occupy left two-thirds of picture. Right is open, beginning with a fore- and middle-ground expanse of water that gives way to a wall of distant mist. Outline brush stroke is rather broad and soft, given the intent to depict angular forms; light and dark washes lend a dramatic activity to the composition.ProvenanceMakita Tamaki, Tokyo [1];
