DescriptionImage of a man sitting with his elbow resting on the back of a ladderback-style chair; he is resting his head on his hand. This sixth plate daguerreotype is housed in a flip-top case with a leather covering that is highlghted with double-line blind tooling that outlines the flat face of the lid and tray, and accents all of the beveled corners. The lid has a velvet covered cushion liner that is a deep purple/nearly black.Published References"Photography," Western Art Journal 1:1 (January 1855): 14; Harry R.
