Description1/6 plate daguerreotype portrait of a little girl seated beside a table on which sits a bouquet of flowers. A pencil notation inside reads "Mell A. Hayes [with an ink inscription].... .... daguerreotype taken 1850." The silk pad has the word "Mell" written on it. Two small plate dings are present on either side of her arm near her chair. Nicely tinted. Original seals. Full case.
