DescriptionTwenty-four voussoirs with alternating bird and acanthus leaf designs. Bird voussoirs are arranged in pairs, facing each other, with single voussoirs of acanthus leaves placed between the pairs. Two acanthus voussoirs are paired at the keystone.Exhibition History

[1] The provenance of this arch is as described in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, Cloisters Library and Archive, Brummer Gallery Records, Roman, Gothic, Renaissance, and Greek architecture and capitals, Object inventory card numbers P7109 through P7133. In addition to the 25 stone arch pieces, Brummer acquired an additional piece from Botte that is also described in the Brummer records as from St. Pierre (Brummer stock no. P7109a); it was sold to the Fogg Art Museum.
