DescriptionThis painting shows a panoramic landscape with fairly dark overhanging clouds. A deep canyon (the bottom of which is not visible) stretches forward toward the viewer. Much of the light in the composition strikes the walls of the canyon, thus drawing attention to it. The view reaches deep into the distance, where several promontories can be seen.
