DescriptionIn a vertical format, this illustration depicts an advance of troops during war. Three soldiers accompany a cannon in th emiddle of the composition. In the background, a soldier raises his sword, thereby commanding the troop's movement. In the foreground at left, a crazed, perhaps wounded, soldier flees the implied conflict.
