DescriptionMiniature silver coffee pot with a plain, tapered body, and straight tubular spout. Wood side handle. The removable cover is slightly domed with a ball finial.Gallery LabelThis miniature coffee pot is a type of ware produced in this size for display in a doll house and, in a slightly larger size, as toys for young girls. Although some were made by apprentice silversmiths as a test of their skills, most examples bear the maker's mark of established silversmiths, some specializing in miniature wares. These were most likely not made as salesmen's samples as has often been suggested.
