DescriptionReplica of a 12th century anointing spoon used in English coronation ceremony. Large bowl of spoon is decorated with stylized curvilinear floral design. Handle begins at bowl with an animal head followed by four circular floral decorated medallions followed by a straight section decorated decorated with a "vine" meander ending in a lion's head followed by a twisting tail section of the handle. British hall marks on Handle: Shield wi. BBSLD anchor lion, large C, profile of Queen Elizabeth commemorating her coronation.
