DescriptionA shallow, oval shaped dish form with flared rim, supported by an oval foot pierced with vertical slits and half-oval swing handle attached at the midpoint of the rim of the dish at the widest opening. The rim of the dish and the handle have an applied reeded moulding.

The flared rim with keyhole punched swags that form six lunettes, each enclosing a single engraved rosette and bright cut engraved floral designs and wriggle-work. On the exterior of one side of the bowl there is an engraved lion crest. The opposite exterior side is stamped with five hallmarks – maker’s mark “HB”, lion passant, leopard’s head crowned, date letter p, and the sovereign’s head. The sterling silver mark is stamped on the handle. Engraved on the underside of the dish: “IA to EC”.
