DescriptionMixed needle and bobbin lace of the type known as Duchesse de Bruxelles. The outer section and the inner edge are of bobbin lace; fairly well made with shaded flowers and raised veins. Between is a band of point de gaze; delicate net and sprays of flowers. Attached inside the neck edge is a pleated frill of bobbin lace that would have stood up behind the neck when the collar was worn. Designed to fit a deep V-shaped neck opening.
