DescriptionIn foreground, grassy ridge with overturned orange rowboat, center, three partially defoliated birches beyond, clothesline between two right trunks, two men, right, drawing another boat onto bank; beyond trees, sagging gable-roofed shake-shingled barn with six decoys on double doors. Bright-green, flat-roofed house beside it, white area of water dotted with sand bars center and right; hazy forested shore across center; above, purple-scumbled sky crossed low by flight of bluebirds heading right.
