DescriptionBusy scene in a kiln yard. Clockwise from lower center: Profile head and shoulders of a man in black, holding a curved implement in his right hand. He faces the head and shoulders of a woman with red hair piled on her head, a red dress, and a string of pearls. A kiln with streaky dark grey smoke billowing out and red flames at the top. A woman in protective goggles pulls something out of the flames with her proper right hand. Behind her, a smaller female figure holds a crowbar in her proper left hand. Above them, a man straining backward to pull something heavy into the yard. A black dog stretches out its forepaws toward his lower back. To the right of the dog, a figure bends over to investigate what is in the kiln that dominates the upper half of the picture. Behind the figure, a trailer. Streaky dark grey smoke billows out of the kiln. To its right, a woman swatting at a small drone. Right center, a woman crouching, facing left, a bowl in her proper left hand, while another woman places jars on a low wheeled cart. A bucket of red liquid. In the lower right corner, a grey cat exiting the picture.Provenance
