DescriptionPortrait of a woman wearing a long-sleeved satin dress with a lace collar and a brooch. She holds open a book which rests on a small table nearby. Her hair is parted in the center and curled in ringlets which cover her ears and fall above her shoulders. This quarter plate cased daguerreotype is housed in a leather covered case with a brass mat and burgundy satin liner. There is a floral motif on the brown case.Provenance
