DescriptionThe next to smallest of four matching necklaces in the form of flat beaded collars with a simple back opening. Concentric rings of red glass beads strung on wire, with four bead strands in the Maasai complementary oppositional colors of light blue, green, and deep blue. The concentric rings are joined together with wire at six points, with the center front of the necklace joined by a band of white, red, and blue beaded lines. The necklace's outer ring is composed of large white beads interspersed with smaller blue beads, with a large red bead positioned at the center and mid-points of the necklace sides.ProvenanceAcquired in Kenya by Linda M. Livingstone’s father, 1950s [1];
