DescriptionThe painting features a large old blossoming plum tree that dominates the composition. Its branches, rendered in dark tones of ink, arch out across the screen from the left side where the trunk is anchored. Two small birds perch on small branches and a single bird stands on the ground below, facing the tree amidst a clump of grasses. Horizontal bands of mist in green and gold wash cover the background.
