DescriptionA large willow, roughly brushed in ink and ochre, dominates the composition with its textured trunk and thickly painted willow branches handing heavily downward into a dense clump of lotus leaves and blossoms. The lotus have been painted in the "boneless" manner of colored washes without outline in contrasting colors of pale blue and soft, rich ochres.
