DescriptionSilver coffee pot with broadly fluted, straight, tapering sides, tucked in at the bottom; round, fluted foot. The low domed cover, with flutes and shaped edge, has narrow flutes at the top and is surmounted with a ball and leaf finial. Double scroll wood handle. The spout is curved, with flutes, and is capped with a leaf and attached with a shell.Gallery LabelThe body of this coffee pot undulates in a linen-fold pattern, a decorative motif intended to imitate a folded piece of cloth. The skillful execution of this silver vessel can be seen in the graceful continuation of the vertical folds that rise onto the lid and tuck in at the base only to radiate onto the foot. The finial is composed of a ball gently cupped by four leaves, and the spout and handle connect to the rippled body with shells and foliage.
