DescriptionThis tiara is made of a thick silver rope-like band of continuous text with five gold-plated geometric decorative components each composed of two layers. The first layer is a single sheet of metal with photo-transferred images including hands, a watch face, and a swaddled baby. The second layer is comprised of gold wire drawings including a baby’s face, foot and hand, as well as a sleeping baby. These components are attached to the thick band of silver with two pegs at the base of each piece. When worn, the five geometric forms are placed at the front of the head.ProvenanceCommissioned from the artist by Robert A. Hiller, by 2016;
His gift to The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, MO, 2017.
