DescriptionThe kimono is unlined and made of plain weave Omeshi silk crepe. The fabric's warp was printed with stencils, and the weft was hand-tied and dyed to make a kasuri (ikat) pattern. The ground of the kimono features a checkerboard pattern (ichimatsu) with light pink and dark pink. Over the ground pattern are scrolling white vines with peony leaves. The vines are outlined in black and have blue and yellow lines within them.
