DescriptionImage in black, blue, yellow, red and pink. In the center, a man’s torso dressed in a black jacket, black trousers, a white shirt with black stripes, and a blue and black checked cummerbund sits on a pink table with a yellow rim and bulging black legs that end in points. Five balls of different colors rest on the table. The figure has no neck or head; red and yellow flames cover the top of him, cascading over his shoulders and down his back. His proper left hand holds a blue head or helmet from which sprouts a bouquet of roses; an elaborately looped rope dangles below it. On the lower right, four yellow parakeets under the table. His proper right arm ends in a metallic hand held wide open. A yellow robe loops around the arm and hand and a spotted cloth hangs from it. In the upper left corner, butterflies and playing cards. A blue curtain in undulating folds in the background.ProvenanceC. Richard Belger and Evelyn Craft Belger, Kansas City, MO;
